It is really encouraging to hear that Professor John Warner, a consultant paediatrician, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
Professor Warner has been involved in food allergy research for the past 25 years and this award is in recognition of his work. The focus of his research has been on the origins of asthma and similar respiratory disorders, particularly related to children. With 1 in 4 school age children suffering with allergies and this number is ever increasing, this is vital work and it is great to see that there has been recognition for the importance of this.
Congratulations Professor Warner.
